Condolences

Sadly, on Wednesday 27th September after bravely battling Parkinson's Disease, Jock aged 72 years.

The beloved husband of the late Marjory, a devoted  dad of Karen and Graham and his wife Ange. Also a cherished grandad of Laura and Scott.

Jock was very proud of his Scottish heritage, and will be fondly remembered for having a generous and kind nature. He spent his working life serving the Cheshire police force in the serious crime squad.

Jock's funeral will take place at 2pm on Friday 20th October at St Mary's Church, Nantwich followed by committal at Crewe Crematorium.

Rosa passed away in Audlem Country Nursing Home on 6th September 2017 just a few weeks before her 68th birthday.

She was born in Brighton and became a telephonist upon leaving school going on to have three children, Cassie, Christopher and Victoria.

Rosa was a religious lady and would often talk about her faith and loved singing, being part of a band when she was in Dorking. Alongside the singing, she was a dab hand with a paintbrush, giving  the pictures she painted to friends as presents.

She was blessed with six grandchildren Abbie, Alfie, Josh, Jack, Ben and Grace.

She loved to relax with a cigar and a cup of coffee, moving to Audlem Country Nursing Home eleven years ago due to failing health where she was happy and comfortable.

Her funeral will take place at Crewe Crematorium on Monday 9th October at 9.20am. Any donations in Rosa's memory will be for a lasting memorial for her.

Peacefully on the 26th September at Leighton Hospital, Bernard aged 91 years of age.

A much loved brother of Topsy, James and the late Sister Margaret and a very dear uncle.

Bernard will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all his family and friends.

A Requiem Mass will take place at 11am on Wednesday 11th October at St Anne's RC Church in Nantwich followed by burial in Shifnal, Shropshire the following day.

Donations in memory of Bernard are for the work and mission of St Anne's RC Church, Nantwich.

"I had a great innings!"

At Leighton Hospital after a short illness, Roy passed away peacefully on Wednesday 27th September. He was the much loved dad of Callum and a cherished brother of Ian, Alan and Liz.

Roy was born in Crewe and was the third child to his proud parents George and Emmie on Friday 29th September 1950.

Roy went to West Street and Ludford Street Schools and went on to secure an apprenticeship as a pattern maker at the Works in 1966. Another job included  shop fitting for Reflects.

Besides his love for horse riding he was a keen cricketter and sports fan including fishing. He once had a bad fall and broke his back while riding horses but his love for them never ceased.

It was his beloved cricket that he would excel in, becoming an umpire in local games. Playing fair and keeping your eye on the ball was his good advice!

A pint with good friends reminds us that Roy was well liked and good 'all rounder' who will be fondly remembered.

His funeral will take place on Monday 9th October at St Barnabas' Church on West Street in Crewe at 11am followed by cremation at Crewe Crematorium. Any donations in Roy's memory are for the RNLI and donations will be accepted on the day.

Liz  (Sylvia Butterfield) passed peacefully away, aged 77 years surrounded by the love of her family.

Liz was born in Leeds in November 1939. She played Vera Duckworth in Coronation Street for 34 years.  During her acting career she received the soap award for lifetime achievement. Liz  worked tirelessly for The British Lung Foundation and COPD.

One of the highlights of her life was meeting Pope John Paul 11.

The beloved wife of the late John, much loved sister, sister in law and dearest aunty, who will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all her family. Peacefully in Leighton Hospital after a wonderful life lived, Esme passed away aged 93 years.

Esme was married to the late Ken for 60 years before he passed away in 2001. Her working life was in the textile industry and

she had full social life which she enjoyed.

Her pleasures included walking in Wales and the Lake District and Peak District, occasional picnics, sewing and knitting.

She will be remembered with deep affection by all those who knew her.

Esme's funeral will take place in Crewe Crematorium Chapel on Tuesday 3rd October at 1.20pm. Donations in her memory are

for the valuable work of St Lukes (Cheshire) Hospice.

"Tired and weary you made no fuss, but tried so hard to stay with us"

In her own home on the 31st August cared for by her family, Claire passed away aged only 64 years. The beloved wife of Alan for 45 years, much loved mum of Kerry, Lisa, Simon and Kieran. Treasured granny of Jade, Brandon, Sienna, Sam and dearest sister of Rosa, Jonathan, Simon, Marie and the late Roger and Martin.

Claire's early life was spent in Tarporley and after meeting Alan they moved to Crewe, marrying in 1972. They had 4 children and 4 Grandchildren who will miss her dearly. After working at Holland's Cheese Factory and Asda for a while, the last 10 years of her working life was spent at Rope Garden Nurseries. Claire was a keen gardener, so she was happy amongst the flowers and shrubs.

Holidays in Spain and caravan holidays in North Wales with her love of cats, leave the family with many cherished memories.

Claire's funeral will take place on Monday 11th September in Crewe Crematorium Chapel at 2.40pm followed by cremation. Information about donations has not been received yet, please contact the office.

  Mum , thank you for being there for me and looking after Brandon and Jade you know I love you so much. I cant believe you have gone I used to love going shopping with you in Nantwich and getting dinner from Chatwins and sitting on the square and having a laugh with you and feeding the pigeons even though we were not supposed to !! I miss you so much already and its less than a week since you have gone. We will look after the cats and Brandy dog, your Boy as you called him. So don't worry about that and Leo sat on you on your hospital bed all the time since you were in it, he knew you were not well. I hope you are still watching over us which I'm sure you are making sure we are all ok. love you mum from kerry, Brandon and Jade and dogs and cats xxxxx

  I hadn't known you for very long but from the time I became friends with Lisa 7 years ago, you made me feel very welcome and part of your 'clan'. We had some good old natters at your family BBQs and you always made me giggle. My fondest memory of you is when I pulled into a parking space in Nantwich, got out of my car and this voice behind me said 'That cow is driving my car!' 2 weeks later you had bought a mini the same as mine! I wish I had known you for longer but sadly it was not to be. You are at peace now Claire and I'm sure you will be drinking your Lambrini and keeping an eye on all your clan from up there. I will look after Lisa and Sienna as best I can I promise. God Bless xxx

  Hi granny, I miss you. I’ve got two beautiful little children now, I know you would’ve loved to meet them and be a great granny. I always talk about you every single day and ever since you went I have had a huge hole in my heart that can’t be filled. Remember when I was poorly and you went to the carboot and bought me an entire bin bag full of teddies! That was one of my favourite memories. Or when you made me a ham salad sandwich with a worm on (which you just took off) and gave me back the sandwich 😂 Thank you for always siding with me when mum annoyed me 🤣 Thank you for everything you did for me, you made sure I was never ever left upset and always gave me a hug and stroked my hair. I have a little girl called Harper (4) and a little boy called Harrison (9 months). I wish I could bring them round to your house and let them meet you. I miss you so much I love you xxxx

Andy passed away peacefully at home aged only 61 years of age surrounded by the love and care of his family.

Andy, the beloved husband of Maria, a much loved dad of Amy and Adam, also a dearest brother of Joan, Ken, Graham, Margaret and the late Keith.

Andy attended Sandbach Boys School where his friendly nature made him popular with both pupils and teachers alike.
After leaving school he worked for Fodens as a toolmaker.

His other jobs included advertising sales for Yellow Pages and corporate vehicle leasing for major corporations with LEX Vehicle Leasing and Lloyds Banking Group.

At his heart, Andy was a hard working family man who will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by those he loved.

Andrew's funeral will take place at St Mary's Parish Church, Nantwich on 8th September at 10am followed by burial in Nantwich Cemetery, White House Lane.
Donations are welcome to Cancer Research UK.

"Loves Last Gift: Remberance"

Larry passed away suddenly at home on the 24th August aged 68 years.

The beloved son of the late Rosalie, a much loved brother of Tony, Adrienne, Suzanne, Marilyn and the late Clive.

Larry was someone very content in his own company but also appreciated very much, the friendship of his family and friends.

After school he did clerical work at the Co-op, other jobs included Rolls Royce where he worked for 25 years and received a service medal.

He loved running and cycling. In his fifties he took the decision to care for his mum, something he did with pride and dignity until his mum passed away in 2006 which left a big void in his life. He still pursued his interests but life was never to be the same for him.

Larry's funeral will take place at Crewe Crematorium Chapel on Friday 8th September at 2pm followed by cremation.
