"You showed us how to love and smile"

Tom passed away peacefully at home, supported by the love and care of his devoted family on 18th November 2017, aged 72 years.

Devoted husband of Jean and loving dad of Donna, Angela and Andrew and a treasured grandad of Jordan, Kearan, Callum, Francesca and Benjamin.

Tom was born in Crewe and left school as soon as he could and started work as an aerial fitter at Breeden & Middletons, he also worked as a painter and decorator when not fitting aerials.

He met Jean when he was just 17 and they knew immediately that they'd both found 'the one', they were married after only six months. two years after their first child was born followed by another two, Donna, Angela and Andrew

He was a true family man and worked hard throughout his working life to provide for them. Tom was a track worker at Pway, worked for HST animal feeds, Churchills Ceramics and Gadbrook Distribution as a fork lift truck driver.

He has always enjoyed many different sports as a spectator and player. He was football mad and followed his beloved Crewe Alex, and also played cricket, golf,  and watching skiing on the television.

Tom has five grandchildren, Jordan, Kearan, Callum, Francesca and Benjamin.

Beechmere has been their home in recent years and both he and Jean loved the place and their neighbours. Tom was very active as treasurer of the residents association and would arrange trips and parties and appeared in the pantomime as the panto Dame!

He had a great big personality, the life and soul of any party brining much joy to the Beechmere community where both the management and neighbours will feel his loss.

Tom's funeral will take place on Thursday 30th November in Crewe Crematorium Chapel at 12.40pm. Any donations in Tom's memory will be for the valuable work of St Lukes (Cheshire) Hospice.

In the care of St Luke's, Doreen passed peacefully away, aged 77 years. The beloved wife of the late Denis, much loved mum to Valerie, Carl and Kevin. Also a cherished sister, grandma, great grandma and good friend who will be so sadly missed by her family and friends. During her working life Doreen was employed at The Sewing Factory, Rail House and Welcome Foundation. The latter being her favourite place of work where she would look forward to the breaks in the Brew Room with her workmates. She often went to "The Bridge Inn" with her husband and also enjoyed family holidays abroad with the "Carter family" when her children were in their teens, and many camping holidays in Tenby.  She enjoyed fishing and gardening. (Her lawn was kept like a bowling green) In later life, after her husband's death, she  attended dancing school with her sister Jean, where she made many amazing friends with whom she went on several holidays and to parties. Doreen's family described her as a caring, kind, easy going, brave, generous and thoughtful lady.

Doreen's funeral will take place on Friday 1st December at 11am in St Andrews Church, Bedford Street, Crewe followed by Cremation. Donations in her memory will be for the MacMillan Cancer Care

Joyce passed away peacefully on 6th November 2017 in the care of Leighton hospital aged 85.

The dearly loved mum of Stuart, Keith and Julie also a treasured nan, great nan and sister.

The funeral service will take place at St. Andrew's Parish Church, Crewe on Tuesday 21st November at 11.30am followed by burial in Crewe cemetery.

Scott passed peacefully away at Leighton, aged 93 years. The beloved husband of Yvonne,much loved dad to David and his wife Audrey, Caroline and her husband Jonty. Also a cherished grandad to Vicky, Daniel and Charlotte, who will be so sadly missed and fondly remembered by all his family and friends. Donations, if desired, will be gratefully received in memory of Scott for Cancer Research Crewe and Nantwich. Scott's funeral will take place on Thursday 23rd November at 12 noon in St Chad's Church, Wybunbury, followed by burial in the churchyard.

Scott was brought up in a good family environment. His family had a deep faith. His father Ralph was a church warden and supported the community providing work and good values that were passed onto Scott, who himself became a church warden. Scott worked for his father in his transport business as a young man, before joining the Army from 1939 - 1945. After that time he went back to the family business. Yvonne, his wife and his children David and Caroline described Scott as a kind, caring, fun loving, brave family man, whose thoughtfulness and generous nature will be so sadly missed by not only them but by so many of his friends.

Yvonne, Scott and the family did so much together, from holidays in Cornwall, all parts of Wales and his beloved Portugal. He loved his garden and the outdoors. This made him a natural golf player, a game he loved and played whenever he could. By all accounts he had a good handicap (but that may be one of those golfing stories) He loved a good joke. It's impossible to share a life like Scott's in the few words we have on this page but his last and first words would surely be the love of his wife Yvonne, children David and Caroline and the immense joy and pride he had in his grandchildren, Victoria, Daniel and Charlotte.

"You will stay with us in our dreams"

Sid passed away peacefully in his sleep on the 9th November aged 85 years.

Sid has not been well for some time and his passing is a very sad loss to all his family and friends.

Sid was born in Ettiley Heath on 22nd May 1932 . He was the youngest of 7 children. He started work, aged 14 years as an apprentice fitter where he served for 40 years, the only break being for National Service in his early 20's.

Sid was an avid Crewe Alex supporter all his life, a keen fisherman and cricket umpire. Along with his great sense of humour, he loved to sing and was known for his rendition of "The Big Black Candy Mountain" at a quiz evening.

Sid and Brenda met while dancing at one of the dance halls in Crewe. After marrying at St. John's Church and later moving to Walthall Street, daughters Hazel and Elizabeth were born. The house was always full of fun and friends were always welcome as he enjoyed entertaining and cooking, especially curries.

Although divorced, Sid and Brenda remained good friends, Brenda having moved in next door. Sid went on to meet Jose, where they enjoyed trips to Canada and all over the UK together, even canvassing for the Labour party.

In 2006 Sid lost his daughter Hazel to cancer which was a massive blow to him for many years.

Sid was a gentleman, he was laid back and unassuming. He had no maliciousness about him at all. He was fun-loving, kind, hardworking, always smiling and was quite handy at DIY. Sid was also very good at looking after and helping other people out in life.

Sid's funeral will take place on Wednesday 22nd November at 10.40am in the Crematorium Chapel, Crewe.

Sadly, with great courage, supported by the love of his family, Tom aged 70 years.

The loving husband of Lorraine, a devoted son of Stella, a dearest dad of Sonia and Adrian, a cherished grandad of Ramona, Ashley, Dominique, Clayton, Tyler, Lydia, Saul and Kiri also a treasured great grandad of Aaliyah.

Tom moved to England from his birthplace of Barbados to be with his mum who came to the UK to train as a nurse. Toms mum made sure he had a job lined up when he arrived.

He moved to Crewe and started working for Heaps of Nantwich, in his spare time he enjoyed fishing and darts and was a keen player of cricket, being a member of the Anglo West Indies Team.

  I’ve known Tom since the early 1970’s. A quiet man till you got to know him. He loved music particularly soul and reggae. Lorraine, Tome and I had some good nights out together. Tom always had some tale to tell, usually about some mischief played on him or others at work. Tom and Lorraine made a lot of good friends together. Tom laughed a lot, enjoyed socialising and had many happy holidays with Lorraine and our mum and dad. You will be greatly missed by us all. Rest in peace. Jacqueline, your sister- in - law. xxx

  It is with great sadness I begin to write this message remembering aspects of Tom's life that touched me and my family.Tom had an infectious laugh and never lost his Caribbean spirit. He often liked to tell a story which nearly always ended in hoots of laughter. Much of our conversations centred around a variety of sports and I always regretted never seeing him play cricket.I enjoyed many family meals with Tom. He liked his food and was always good company with a big plate of prawns and a tin of Stella. May I offer my sincere condolences to Lorraine and hope she can, given time, move on with her life without Tom but keep those treasured memories close to her heart.

It is with great sadness that Gill, Rob and Karyn announce the death of Harry. He died at home in Wistaston aged 82 years.

Harry will be remembered by his family and friends as a man of great love and kindness who lived his life to the full.

Harry's funeral is to take place at Crewe Crematorium Chapel on Wednesday 15th November at 12noon followed by cremation.

Donations if desired are for Crewe Stroke Support Group where Harry was a volunteer for over 26 years.

"Your loving ways we won't forget"

On the 31st October in the care of the nursing staff at Leighton hospital, Mary passed away peacefully aged 96 years.

Mary was born in Alexandria, the second largest city in Egypt on the 28th October 1921 in the middle of the revolution which started in 1919 and finished with independence in 1922.

They say "home is where the heart is" and home for Mary in her early years was a convent education with the nuns of St. Vincent de Paul.

During her long life Mary has lived in Cairo, York and London.

Her life was varied. She was born into an Armenian family and was the eldest daughter of a department store owner in Alexandria.

At the age of 17 she was married to her husband Sarkis, a jeweller from Cairo but after only four years  he sadly passed away leaving her with two young children, Levon and Mayda. If widowhood was not hard enough, then her father lost his sight and was unable to keep the store open. Whenever she recounted these events she never complained, she had great faith and always believed that God would help her and he did. She sold off her jewellery to make ends meet and when the children started working their situation improved. When her cherished granddaughter Christine and dearest grandson Oliver were born her children and family became the centre of her life and when not with family she liked to socialise with friends.

In later life she enjoyed listening to the radio but if Christine and Oliver had Top of the Pops on the television she would tell them what she thought of the music on it!

Mary had a fantastic memory, being able to recall not only what she had wore on a particular occasion but what everyone else had been wearing too! She could show you a black and white photo and bring it to life in both colour and texture.

She kept her humour and wit until the last, described by her family as a caring, easy going and kind lady who appreciated everything her family and friends did for her.

Mary's funeral will take place at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception RC Church, Crewe on Friday the 10th November at 9.30am followed by burial at St. Mary's churchyard, Wistaston.

Peacefully at Stepping Hill Hospital, surrounded by the loving care of her family, aged 77 years. Dearest partner of Derek, devoted mum to Janet and Stuart, who will be so sadly missed and remembered with affection by all her family and friends. Cath loved to dance and did so every week at the Crosville Club. She was a member of the Delamere Dancers and the Crewe Academy of Dancers.

Born and brought up in Crewe. She attended West Street and Ludford Street Schools. She started work at Rolls Royce before having her children.

Peacefully in the care of Leighton hospital, Helen passed away on the 3rd November, aged 94 years.

The beloved wife of the late Jack, much loved mum of Andrew and Alan.  A cherished grandma, great-grandma and good friend. Also a faithful member of the Methodist congregation in Nantwich.

Ella will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all her family and friends.

Ella's funeral will take place at Crewe Crematorium Chapel on Friday 17th November at 12.40pm.

Donations in memory of Ella will be for the valuable work of the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
