On 26th September William H Painter’s Chelmsley Wood branch held a Macmillan Coffee morning as part of the national “World’s Biggest Coffee Morning” event.<\/p>\n
Throughout the day the team organised refreshments and activities for visitors who dropped in to show their support. We organised a raffle, with prizes donated by local businesses including a mini valet and car service, a rug, some children\u2019s toys, flowers, a fish and chip meal, a free cut and blow dry and a Wilkinson\u2019s \u00a310 gift card. A big thank you to Tesco in Castle Bromwich for a giftpack wrapped by a handful of flowers and donated to a church coffee morning on behalf of our Castle Bromwich branch, also a similar donation from Asda Great Barr and a Kingstanding florist donated to the New Inns pub coffee morning on behalf of our Yardley branch.<\/p>\n
For those who wanted to rest from a hard day’s shopping, our volunteer masseur was on hand to provide back, neck and shoulder massages, as well as advice about nutrition and reflexology.<\/p>\n
At the end of the day a selection of cakes were donated to a local school, Yorkswood Primary who were having an afternoon coffee morning and book sale, and others were donated to a local nursing home and local businesses.<\/p>\n
