William H Painter Funeral Directors in Chelmsley Wood is backing the restoration of the St Andrews Church memorial garden.<\/p>\n
The Bluebell Remembrance Garden close to the branch will be benefitting from a restoration project thanks to a \u00a310,000 grant from the Big Lottery Fund.<\/p>\n
The restoration plans are to be unveiled on Thursday 13 July 2017 following the annual open-air remembrance service, which is to be held in the church\u2019s memorial garden at 11am.<\/p>\n
Everyone is welcome to attend the event to celebrate the lives of late loved ones and those who have commemorative plaques within the garden.<\/p>\n
Attendees are invited to stay for refreshments and the public meeting which will be held immediately following the memorial service to discuss and agree on the proposed restoration works.<\/p>\n
Funeral Arranger Michael Beck is in charge of submitting an application to the Biffa Award Scheme, to fund an additional project in the garden. The scheme award grants to projects that provide or improve biodiversity, community spaces and places for outdoor recreation.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cThere is a banked area of land which it is hoped will be transformed into an educational area for children to learn by increasing the biodiversity of that area.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen complete, the Memorial Garden will be a truly community area, being educational, a place of reflection as well as a place of remembrance for all people of Chelmsley Wood.\u201d<\/p>\n
Supporting another cause close to his heart, Mr Beck will be donating his car to the online vehicle recycling company, Charity Car, to which he will donate 100% of the proceeds to the Rainbow Trust.<\/p>\n
The Rainbow Trust provides support to families who have children aged 0-18 with life threatening or terminal illnesses, wherever they need it.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cI am endeavouring to raise funds for the trust through Rainbow Days with local primary schools, and I hope that by donating my car will raise an amount, which will be able to provide more support to the families who are so desperately in need.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
