If you’ve ever been curious at what is behind the doors at a funeral directors, many of our branches across the UK hold open days.
One such branch is William H Painter in Yardley, which held its most recent open day on the 24 September. The day was attended by members of the public who were invited to have a tour around the historic 19th Century building.
Gemma Freeman said: “We love holding our open days as it is a great opportunity to answer any questions people have about funerals and to dispel the myths about the industry.
“At this open day we had a horse drawn carriage, coffin displays from our manufacturer JC Atkinson, tablets showing the memorial inscription process by our stone masons, as well as charity stands from Birmingham Dogs Home, Forward Day Dreams and Stillwaters, a pregnancy crisis service in Kings Heath.
“It was a brilliant day which everyone really enjoyed and we hope to hold another in the future.”
