Community Fun Day Dementia Awareness Week

It was Dementia Awareness Week from 17th to 23rd May 2015 and our Chelmsley Wood branch organised a community fun day on 24th May which was held at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Pike Drive, Chelmsley Wood.

The fun day, saw a great turn out from the community of Chelmsley Wood. There was a real family atmosphere and even some rain didn’t dampen the festivities! The amount raised so far is £243. All proceeds made on the day are to be divided between The Alzheimer Society and the church roof fund.

Family fun day entertainment included a bouncy castle, face painting, table top sale, puppet show and the ukulele band Northern Star who were also performing at 2pm for 45 minutes.

A selection of food was available throughout including BBQ food, vegetarian and non vegetarian Caribbean meal to eat in or takeaway.

Again a big thank you to all those who came along and made it such a special day.
