Images from our open day at Yardley 24th September 2016Thank you to all those who joined us for an Open Day on Saturday 24th September at our Yardley branch.
The aim of the open day was to raise awareness of our work in the community, to give insight into our historic building and the future development of an exhibition space on site and to dispel myths about the funeral industry.
The day was attended by various professionals and charity organisations. Memorial tablets were provided by our stone masons showing the Memorial inscription processes for sandblasted lettering. There was a coffin display provided and manned by our coffin manufacturers JC Atkinson, an information stand about Stillwaters, a pregnancy crisis service in Kings Heath run by volunteers including Sheila who attended on the day, also with stalls were Birmingham Dogs Home Community Fundraiser Rachel Frost and her dog Harvey and Beth and Maggie from Forward Day Dreams who are fundraising for a hydrotherapy pool. Tours of the building proved to be popular along with information about its history and on-going conservation to historic equipment still in-situ from the 19th century.
