Community Activities
With the support of the local church our Castle Bromwich branch held a fundraising tea party raising money for the Alzheimer’s Society on 3rd March 2015. With home made cakes and entertainment from the Northern Star Ukulele Band those who attended definitely had an afternoon of music and laughter. The band treated us to a 45 minute trip down memory lane with their song choices which even got some of the crowd up on their feet dancing! Approx 40 people attended and this didn’t include the band members who not only donated their time but also to the cause. At the end of the event the raffle was drawn and all the winners were still on site to claim their prizes, one lady even donated a very nice boxed tea light holder to use as an extra prize, thank you.
We would like to say a very big thank you to all those who attended and to those who supported us before, during and after the event, it was a real team effort.
On Friday 6th March our friends at the Oasis cafe St Clements Church donated proceeds from sales to the Alzheimer’s Society which will be added to the donations received at the tea party. We are delighted that the fundraising total reached £315.23 thank you to all those who donated and gave their time and support.
